Freak Hailstorm in Siberia

Whenever you think the UK weather is bad, just remember this video of the recent freak hailstorm in Siberia, when hail the size of golf balls plummeted sun-seekers on a beach along the Ob River.

Following a period of very high temperatures across the region (reaching 37C on Saturday) a sudden thunderstorm - or in this case, a hail cloudburst - was sparked by an intense cold front, causing heavy downpours, strong winds and huge hailstones.

Sadly, two young girls died as a result of the storm when a tree fell on a tent they were sheltering in with their families.
