For meteorologists and weather enthusiasts, the storm chasing season are the most exciting weeks in the meteorological calendar. During May and June, thousands of people from across the world will travel to the Great Plains of America hoping to witness impressive thunderstorms, giant hail, and most sought-after, the perfect tornado.
This year the Royal Meteorological Society would like to host a blog, bringing together stories, photos and videos captured by storm chasers each day, displaying weather highlights from individuals and storm chasing teams. The June 2016 edition of the Weather Club newsletter will also have a storm chasing focus, so we are looking for articles and photos to feature in there.
Whether you already host your own blog, post the day’s highlights on social media, or keep a diary of events, the Society are interested in partnering with you to share the news on one platform, or on the Weather Club.
If you are interested, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org by Sunday 24th April with details about when you will be chasing, links to any websites or blogs you have written from past storm chases and anything else you feel may be useful.
